Reassessments

The Fat Loss Blueprint Program Is As Unique As You Are!

The sole purpose of the Fat Loss Blueprint (FLB) program is to get you lean and keep you lean for life.

And it accomplishes this goal in a totally unique way: It teaches you HOW TO EAT the foods you love that places your body in a fat burning healthy state 24/7.

If you can eat and do simple fourth grade math, then you can be lean and healthy for life!

But the FLB is NOT a starvation program – you must eat to succeed!

Food is not the enemy! Ignorance of HOW TO EAT is the fundamental cause of obesity and chronic diseases.

Learning HOW TO EAT means:

Eating what the body requires not what the mind desires!

Your personalized CalRx is designed to do two things – nourish and nurture your Lean Body Mass (LBM) while “burning up” your toxic body fat.

And the key to your success is allowing your body to do both goals simultaneously.

Here’s how it works:

Your LBM is the part of your body that’s not fat. It includes your skin, hair, eyes, bones, muscles, organs, and nerves. In other words, it’s everything that makes you beautiful, special, and unique.

Body fat is nothing more than a storage depot for excess energy.

The fundamental difference between your LBM and body fat is that your LBM is active and alive and thus requires a constant flow of energy to maintain its health while your body fat is passive and requires almost no energy to maintain whatsoever.

In other words, your LBM needs to be fed continuously while your body fat doesn’t.

Your personalized CalRx is designed specifically to feed your LBM exactly what it needs to keep it healthy while at the same time draining your toxic fat stores.

But there’s a catch.

The amount of food you eat must meet the current energy demands of your LBM .

If you eat too little, you end up starving your LBM and forcing your body to hang on to its fat stores out of fear for its survival.

But if you eat too much, then obviously you store the excess as fat.

Therefore, it’s critical to match your daily food intake with the daily energy requirement of your LBM as precisely as possible.

And that’s just what your CalRx is created to do.

Your initial CalRx is based on YOUR current LBM  and YOUR current percent body fat. Thus, it’s designed to meet the exact energy requirements of your LBM – no more AND no less.

Therefore, when you eat according to your personalized CalRx, you nourish and nurture your LBM while starving your toxic fat!

But things change overtime as they must and that’s why periodic reassessments become necessary for your continued success.

What is a Reassessment?

In simplest terms, a reassessment is an update to your personalized Caloric Prescription (CalRx) designed to meet the changing needs of your body.

Your initial CalRx is based on two metrics: your initial pounds of Lean Body Mass (LBM) and percent body fat.

I am able to estimate both numbers using seven non-invasive circumference measurements plus your body weight. I then use these numbers to calculate your CalRx.

But your CalRx has an expiration date.

Why Do You Need A Reassessment?

First, to Update Your CalRx

Your CalRx is based on real numbers as determined by the current physiological state of your body – it’s NOT a generalized recommendation.

Therefore, to maintain the maximum fat burning and healing effectiveness or your program, your CalRx must change as your LBM and body fat percent change.

As your LBM and percent body fat change over time, your CalRx must change as well. Failure to adjust your CalRx may result in eating either too much food or not enough daily thus diminishing or stopping the fat burning and healing processes of your body.

Medical science operates according to this concept.

Suppose you visit your doctor and discover that you have high blood pressure. After examining you, your physician suggests that given your age, say 45, and your family history, he’s going to prescribe a medication to help lower it. Now you’re faced with two choices.

First, you can choose not to change your lifestyle and simply rely on medication to treat your chronic illness. Then, as your condition worsens over time, and it will, your prescription will change to match your deteriorating health. As your health gets worse, your need for medication will increase.

Or, you can choose to commit to a healthier lifestyle. As you become healthier, your doctor will adjust your prescription accordingly to meet the changing needs of your body. As your health improves, your need for medication will decrease.

The exact same concept applies to your personalized CalRx.

For your program to remain maximally effective it must change with the changing needs of your body.

But here’s where your CalRx is radically different from the medical treatment of chronic diseases.

As you become healthier, your doctor decreases or even eliminates your medications.

On the FLB program, however, as you become healthier and leaner, you’ll have to eat more food rather than less!!!

The idea that you need to eat more food as you become leaner and healthier kind of blows your mind doesn’t it? But remember, your FLB is built upon the foundations of science and physiology and not on opinion or conventional wisdom.

And it’s a statement of fact that as your body fat decreases and your LBM increases over time, your body’s needs more food! But the reverse is also true.

Your body’s need for food will decrease over time if your fat levels increase and your LBM decreases.

Here is a fundamental principle of physiology: Your body is never static – it’s constantly changing.

The only choice you have is to decide in which direction you want your body to move – either in a fat burning healthy direction or in a fat storing unhealthy direction.

When you commit to eating according to the principles of your FLB, you are guaranteed to be continually moving in a fat burning healthy state!

Second, to Track Your Progress

Your changing circumference measurements allow you to track your progress.

Circumference measurements are a better way to track real fat loss than simply using your scale.

If your waist circumference decreases by two inches, you can rest assured that you lost toxic fat. But the same cannot be said about a five pound decrease in your scale weight.

The scale may show a five pound decrease in body weight in a week’s time but you can never be sure if that loss was entirely due to a decrease in body fat. The scale measures changes in weight, not body fat, and an acute body weight change can be the result of many factors other than just an increase or decrease in fat.

Additionally, once you’ve updated your measurements and submitted them, you’ll receive a new body composition analysis which will include your percent body fat, pounds of body fat, and pounds of lean body mass.

All these metrics together provide you with a much clearer and more accurate assessment of your progress than simply using the scale alone.

When Do You Need A Reassessment?

There are two answers to this question – one is physiological while the other is psychological.

Physiological Reasons for a Reassessment

Physiologically, body fat can be lost continuously but only at the rate of between one to three pounds per week – on average!

Fat loss is NEVER a linear process.

You’re not going to lose 1.5 pounds a week every week. Some weeks you may lose closer to a half pound while other weeks you may lose three or more.

Therefore, in order to be lean and healthy for life, you must understand the following physiological truth:

The ONLY thing you have 100 % control over is the ability to create a conducive environment within your body to allow the fat burning and healing processes to occur – but you are almost powerless to control the rate or magnitude of those changes.

This is called “humility”; and it’s a virtue. Not understanding this concept is the fundamental cause for the current obesity epidemic in our society.

When you follow your FLB program unconditionally, you are creating the perfect environment within your body to allow it to burn fat and heal – and that’s all you can do!

Your body will decide on the rate and magnitude of those changes and they won’t be based on your wishes, dreams, or desires.

If you’re more concerned with magic and speed rather than with consistency and reality, then this program is not for you.

The FLB is not a quick fix; it is a permanent fix.

Given the reality of how your body works, below are my suggestions for when my students should consider scheduling a reassessment.

If your initial body fat percent is greater than 33 %, then your CalRx is probably good for six to nine months depending upon your level of commitment. Meaning that if you commit to the program unconditionally, you’ll probably need a reassessment after about six months. However, if your commitment is more sporadic, you may not need a reassessment for nine to twelve months.

If your initial body fat percent is between 26 % and 32 %, then you may be ready for a reassessment in three to six months depending upon your level of commitment.

And, if your initial body fat percent is somewhere between 20 % and 25 %, you may need a reassessment in three months or less depending on your level of commitment.

The above guidelines address the physiological realities of the fat loss and healing processes of your body. But there is also a psychological component that must be considered as well.

Psychological Reasons for a Reassessment

I’ve worked with many students who lost over 100 pounds and were only reassessed three or four times over the course of their journey.

I’ve also worked with a number of students who lost over 100 pounds and were reassessed every six or eight weeks during their journey.

Both strategies work; but I can’t recommend which one is right for you.

If you feel you need more support during the initial phase of your physical transformation journey, then you may schedule more frequent reassessments.

But remember, you’re never locked into any one strategy. No one knows what you need to succeed better than you do.

My mission is to give my students the tools, skills, knowledge, and continuing support they require to become lean and healthy for life.

I will support whatever decision you feel is best for you and I will ALWAYS be here to help.
